Job Overview
The ShipConsult division of JASCO Applied Sciences is looking for a new team member to provide support in the field of ship acoustics, to start at any time.
Important to know: The job profile includes activities that will be learned on the job. Therefore, it is not necessary that you already master everything before starting work with us.
Your Responsibilities
- Review of design documents
- Calculation of sound generation, propagation and effects
- Development of acoustic mitigation measures
- Ongoing interaction with the customer
- Construction supervision and control of the implementation of recommended measures
What you should bring to the job
- Interest in ship acoustics
- A Master’s degree in Naval Architecture and at least five years of work experience in the maritime industry and in the best case as a ship noise control engineer
- Ability and keenness to grasp the technical-physical background of ship acoustics and to apply it to the task at hand
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and to read and write reports. German language skills are beneficial
- Willingness to travel approximately 20 days per year. This travel includes field measurement deployments on ships, customer visits, conferences, or working in the offices of our JASCO Applied Sciences partner companies in the US or Canada.
- Initial experience in ANSYS, Python, Matlab, or another programming language is desirable
